Apple Bobbers!!

Halloween Happenings in Room 204!

We had a wonderful time at our Halloween party! Everyone wore a costume, bobbed for apples, put gum on the witches nose, and made a witch hand out of popcorn and candy corn. We played spider ring toss, a halloween twister game, as well as toss the pumpkin patch. Eating yummy cupcakes, dipping our apples in caramel, and crunchy popcorn were all washed down with refreshing juice boxes. Thanks to everyone who sent items in to make the party a big hit! We hope you enjoy some of the pictures.

Some More Pictures from Plimoth Plantation

Pine Glen Visits Plimoth Plantation

Our class enjoyed a great, cold, visit to Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth MA this past Monday. They were able to see the Mayflower, meet actors who represented authentic Pilgrims and Wampanoags. Students learned how to plant, make a mishoon, see a meeting house and compare the two different types of lifestyles the Pilgrims and Wampanoags had. Everyone had a great time. Check out the pictures we took while we were there. Our exploration of Pilgrims and Native Americans will continue throughout the rest of the month.

Burlington Heroes at Pine Glen!

On Friday, September 10, 2010 we paid honor to our Burlington Fire and Police Departments with an all school assembly. Each child in our class wrote a letter to our Burlington Police Department, thanking them for their bravery. The other third grade students wrote letters to the fire department. Bobby was selected to read his aloud to the rest of the school. He did a great job! It was a very proud day for the students of Pine Glen. Click on the link below, created by our new technology teacher Mr. Daniel Callahan to see the day's events!

First Week Success!!

Our first week in Room 204 was a HUGE success! It was wonderful getting to meet everyone, and learning about all their interests and dreams. We had very productive first day, where each group of students presented a poem from Shel Silverstein. We will try to attach those pictures here. Ask your child what their poem was about. Thank you to everyone for returning alllllllllll those forms, and the homework agenda. We are off to a great start with everyone remembering their materials!! A pat on the back for great writing in our Cheap Rhinoceros book, Mouse a Cookie Diagrams, and the Important Book writing! Also, the level of sorting data and presenting it was tremendous! We are so proud of all the work the students did this week, especially in the very hot classroom. We know it was challenging to focus and produce- but they all did just that.
